Life at Cockburn Central will revolve around the lively town square called The Siding. It is energised by the entranceway to the Cockburn Central train station. The regional centre will serve commuters on bus and train journeys, and bring shoppers, workers and residents to and from the town centre day and night. The train station will handle around 5,000 boardings a day, as well as offer park and ride facilities to more than 400 vehicles a day.
It will be a lively, welcoming space, where people of all ages will gather to enjoy restaurants and cafes, entertainment and the convenience of retail outlets and a range of services. This contemporary new connected community, with its public art and attractively landscaped streets and The Siding will make Cockburn Central a safe, enjoyable place to be.
The town centre will be developed in two stages. Stage 1 lots have now all been sold and development begun. Purchasers included FESA, Giorgi Group, the City of Cockburn, Australand and the Department of Housing. Stage 2 lots will be released to the developer market soon.
